Secretary-designee Karen Timberlake Departing Department of Health Services

Late last week, Governor Tony Evers announced that Department of Health Services (DHS) Secretary-designee, Karen Timberlake, will be leaving the Department at the end of the year.  It is expected that Secretary Timberlake’s successor will be nominated in the coming weeks.

WHCA/WiCAL has enjoyed working with Secretary Timberlake.  She is a consummate professional who brought to the job a tremendous work ethic, the patience to listen to and understand all perspectives on an issue and a wealth of public and private sector practical experience.  We may not have agreed on every issue, but WHCA/WiCAL leadership and staff always felt that the Association’s perspective was welcome and considered.  Secretary Timberlake was our partner as our members continue on their journey to provide the highest quality, most cost efficient care to the most vulnerable among us.  She will be missed.
