Free N95 Fit Testing Kits available for a limited time and in limited quantities

The Wisconsin Department of Health’s Healthcare-Associated Infections Prevention Program has made available a limited supply of N95 Fit Testing Kits.  The information that follows provides direction on how to request the kits.  A limited supply is available.  Orders will be filled on a first come – first served basis.

Free N95 Fit Testing Kits Available

All health care personnel who use N95 respirators should be fit tested annually per Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. During the pandemic, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) and Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene (WSLH) collaborated to assemble free fit testing kits for health care providers.

Each test kit includes:

  • 25 disposable fit testing hoods
  • Two nebulizers
  • Three boxes of fit test solution
  • Three boxes of sensitivity solution

Note: Solution in fit testing kits expire February 2026.

A limited number of these free fit testing kits remain available for request by Wisconsin health care facilities and local and Tribal health departments. Kits will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Reserve yours soon!


How to request N95 fit testing kits

Contact your HAI Program Regional Infection Preventionist to request free N95 fit testing kits. Please include the number of kits needed in your message to account for the appropriate number of hoods.
