Nursing Home Case Mix Index Rosters Available

Case mix index (CMI) resident rosters for the picture quarters ending March 31, 2022, June 30, 2022, September 30, 2022, and December 31, 2022, are now available on the ForwardHealth Portal. Annualized roster data available as of June 30, 2022, is used to calculate fee-for-service daily rate factors (all-resident CMI and the behavioral and cognitive impairment [BEHCI]). Annualized roster data may reflect changes to prior quarters. These rosters contain Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) case mix index values for residents.

Once the Medicaid Cost Report audit is finalized and initial rates are calculated by the facility’s auditor, they will be uploaded to the facility’s WINHRS account.

Facility-specific interim or final nursing home rates by acuity category (typically used by managed care organizations) are updated monthly on the Myers and Stauffer Wisconsin Department of Health Services website.
