WHCA/WiCAL held its Annual Care Classic Golf Outing this Monday, July 18th at The Oaks Golf Course in Cottage Grove. The event hosted a 32 foursome — both first-timers and lifelong golfers alike—to raise scholarship money for WHCA/WiCAL’s George F. MacKenzie Scholarship Fund .

After breakfast and a sponsored bloody mary bar, the outing kicked off with a shotgun start. There were 32 teams were scattered throughout the course, vying for good scores and fun times. Also found along the links were different games to raise additional scholarship dollars, which golfers could pay to play, with the possibility of winning cash prizes at the end of the night.

As teams finished up their last holes and the golfing came to a close, attendees came off the course for dinner, numerous raffle drawings, and to learn the day’s winners. Raffle prizes included cash rewards, giftcards, a Titleist golf bag, and more.

Thank you to the UW Eau Claire HCAD & CHAASE students for volunteering for the golf outing. Thank you to The Oaks Golf Course, AM Solutions, Herzing University, Moments Hospice, M3 Insurance, UW Eau Claire, and Oak Medical for their Mulligan raffle ticket prize donations. In total, we raised $2,730 from Mulligan raffle tickets and Greenies tickets in addition to money raised from the event. And another thank you to M3 Insurance for raising an additional $145 on their hole.
